Ideal Setlist: The War on Drugs

On 2/21/22, I saw The War on Drugs play the Paramount Theatre in Seattle, Washington. This was my second time seeing the band play live. My first “Live Drugs” show was at the Hollywood Bowl. In that venue, the band’s sound seemed to get lost in the mix of people dining out with friends and a sun that took forever to set. In the darkness of a theater setting, they filled every inch with their sound and powerful guitar solos. This band and their style of music were meant for this sort of atmosphere.

This was also my first time hearing material off the new record, I Don’t Live Here Anymore. The band only played a few songs off that album, but it was enough to force me to dig deeper into the new offering when I got home.

Below is a setlist of my creation. It is comprised of The War on Drugs songs I listen to most often. I own the band’s entire discography, but it is these songs I keep playing. If I had been lucky enough to create an Ideal Setlist, it is these songs I would have selected.
